Thread: Build Help
Post: RE: Build Help
Using a consumer range CPU should save you some money on the CPU. Your budget is quite low anyway.
Also you should go with two GTX 970/980 (depending on your bugdet). Don't buy AMD. |

In the worst case a 290x can draw 400W each. A 1500W PSU ain't gonna cut it. Don't buy AMD. |

A 970 archives about the same rate as a 290x according to these benchmarks:

Now one question remains: why sacrifice 10% performance for the offered flexibility with 100% uptime guarantee? You can have an uptime of 99.9% without the effort of virtualizing. (unless you need 1h ... |

Post: RE: oclHashcat FPGA support
Looking at the performance of various FPGA boards a GPU is probably faster. With custom asics this might look different.
Please stop talking about "decryption" in the context of hashes. |

Post: RE: RX470 - only 14MCU ????
I find the flowchart above very offensive and not true. It's completely ignoring the part where AMD increases the clock rate that subsequently needs to be throttled by powertune. |

That's a pretty efficient heating device you got there. But doing anything other than using that for heating is a waste of time (and power). |
