    Thread: Hacking SHA256
Post: RE: Hacking SHA256

What is "hacking" supposed to mean? Do you mean cracking? Speed is dependent on the hardware you use and to some degree on the kind of attack you run. Generally speaking, sha256 is a pretty fast hash.

Assessing the performance of your hardware requires running the same attack against the same hash. 7-zip is a parameterized hash and will perform differently depending on the exact archive/hash you ar...

?s does include a space but a mask charset will never "include" a noop.

If you have a problem with a third-party script you need to ask them what is wrong.

if you want to output the cracked hashes to cracked.txt you need to use the -o switch before the filename.

you can use the maskprocessor (see wiki). It won't get any faster than this.

    Thread: toggles3.rule replacement
Post: toggles3.rule replacement

The toogles3.rule (included in hashcat >0.37) contains many redundant entries. This hits performance quite hard, because it's many! e.g.: T0T0T0 T0 T0T0T1 T1 T0T1T2 T2T1T0 ... aso so here...

the left and right rules must be real hashcat rules. Masks don't work there.

i don't think this is something to be handled by the hashcat engine. Reversing a hash itself can be sone by a simple shell command. Reversing the word can be done by using the "r" rule. With the up...
