these are mostly variations of hash(salt.pass) or hash(pass.salt) or similar stuff that is also implemented on its own. |

The 8 card limit comes into play when you add 8 cards

more precisely: 8 GPUs, no matter on how many cards. |

this is just a warning and will prevent you from getting the temp and/or usage of the card. The error is something different. |

Shouldn't you be able to run hashcat without X since several versions of the amd driver? |

The best wordlist is the one with the password in it. There is no "perfect" one. |

It always depends on what you are trying to crack. You obviously need a different wordlist for a fast hashing scheme like md5 than you would need for eg WPA. Also it is well worth building specialized... |

Thread: [oclHashcat-1.33] clCreateBuffer() -61 Error
Post: RE: [oclHashcat-1.33] clCreateBuffer() -61 Error
The new version probably handles the salts a bit different and hence needs more vram. Split up your hashlist and try again. |

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't read your post properly. Running a mask attack on a single hash should definitely not exhaust your vram. |
