Post: RE: network cluster cracking
Run your candidate generator on each computer running hashcat and use gate from hashcat-utils (https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=hashcat_utils#gate) to split the workload. |

the table lookup attack from hashcat-legacy can do that, assuming you create a corresponding lookup table: https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=table_lookup_attack |

A form of transliteration! I'd suggest that you make your own transliterate.rule file like so (using your own example)

just a note: if you still get the warning about the failing self-test something as wrong and you will not be able to crack the hash. |

AMD dropped opencl support for that device years ago. It's useless for hashcat. |

This is not a veracrypt support forum. Why not make a backup and try? |

You would only need to backup the part you are overwriting with the backup header. If it decrypts it decrypts. |

By backup header I mean backup whatever you are overwriting. You need to know what that is. And yes, in the worst case it will simply fail to unlock. |

Shouldn't hashcat check if the pid from hashcat.pid does actually belong to a running process? |

1. that's not how custom charsets work
2. convert each letter in user to its ascii hex representation |

A charset is, as the name implies, a set of chars. Defining a string as charset is not going to do what you want. |

You can use the mask attack but you cannot specify the user in a custom charset. |
