It's not about the security of the handshake but the security of the encryption used between client and router.

Maybe you are using CRLF line endings instead of LF?

When you start oclhashcat it shows you which kernel it has loaded. This kernel name includes the codename for your gpu. You can remove all kernels that do not have this codename in their name.

Rules are always single-lined. However, sort -u might not filter all duplicates because there are many rules that do the same as other rules and there might be spaces in the rules which are ignored by...

There should be a parser as part of hashcat-utils, the rest is probably up to you. I'm not aware of any such tool you're looking for.
