is this about Nvidia or AMD? Nvidia does need Forceware, not Catalyst. AMD does only require Catalyst.

always depends. If you plan on running several million hashes at once, Nvidia is the ay to go.

your graphics card does not have enough memory to manage such a big hash list. There is no way for hashcat to somehow split or cache it. You can use the gate utility from hashcat-utils to split it you...

you should test by yourself how many iterations your server can bear. There will always be a trade off between security and performance.

md5(md5(pwd)+string) != md5(md5(pwd+string)) also you did not specify that "string" in your hash file (aka salt).

it tries to read the hashcat.hcstat file from the cwd. If you run bf/markov from any other directory you just get "hashcat.hcstat: No such file or directory". Is this wanted? Hash type naming is in...

most SSDs have higher transfer rates, so reading dicts will be faster. But there is no reason for hashcat to be run off a SSD.

actually better open a new one. with -lite this is possible, not sure about the gui implementation.
