I can confirm this bug. It seems to be related to the --hex-salt option. With ascii salt it works.

You need to make sure you save the wordlist with the correct encoding. I guess Veracrypt uses UTF-8 (just a guess).

I was accidentally running 5.1.0, which was unable to crack the example hash file. After updating to master everything works.
