Thread: GTX 1070 low performance
Post: RE: GTX 1070 low performance
1. running hashcat on notebooks is not recommended
2. you are not specifying a mask
3. did you try the suggestion of adding -w3 and -O ?
4. hashrate is not measured in hertz (lol) |

Thread: GTX 1070 low performance
Post: RE: GTX 1070 low performance
Seems weird that you would see the same speed with -w3 and -O. It should at least improve a bit. If it doesn't that may hint to serious heat throttling due to using a notebook. (benchmark is only a sh... |

Thread: GTX 750 TI
Post: RE: GTX 750 TI
Thank you for these benchmarks, atom! I just ordered one to replace my 5850. Power consumption is so low I could run 3 of these cards in place of my old one and still save some cents. |

Post: RE: GTX 750 TI
I'd like to line out how much happier I'm with my new 750TI compared to the 5850. My random KDE/Xserver crashes stopped and my mouse pointer does not occasionally get replaced by a ~300x300px artefact... |

Benefit from a proper driver: yes. Benefit from the speed improvement: no. Only SM5.0 cards. |

Thread: Hacking SHA256
Post: RE: Hacking SHA256
What is "hacking" supposed to mean? Do you mean cracking? Speed is dependent on the hardware you use and to some degree on the kind of attack you run. Generally speaking, sha256 is a pretty fast hash. |

Thread: Hash Benchmark Much Slower Than Expected
Post: RE: Hash Benchmark Much Slower Than Expected
@Chick3nman: -O has no influence on benchmark mode. My own 1060's results are similar to the one in the referenced benchmark (on 4.0.0-rc1). |

The brain wallet is directly derived from the password. According to the website it's just sha256(pw). That will yield the private key, from which you need to derive the public key, and then the addre... |

You can use the sha256 kernel and modify that to add ecdsa public key derivation, then ripemd160. But well, that's what needs to be done. |

instead of using hashcat you are probably better off using an existing implementation: https://github.com/ryancdotorg/brainflayer |

Your windows is configured to not show known file extensions. That might have something to do with your problem. |
