you do. probably unsupported driver installed. Try installing 12.04. //edit: err, wait. you're using 0.09 again which can not support 4k series cards.

Why would you open the file with a text editor? Just load it in hashcat.

hashcat does not use rainbow tables. And besides, I have no idea how your md5 is related to the pdf mentioned in the thread title.

At least for older versions I remember 55 chars to be a limit. 2*md5 = 64 chars. Not sure if this still applies.

This particular attack only has 40000 candidates. Running the second command on your laptop will likely be faster than running the first command on your gaming rig.
