you have to multiply the speed by amount of salts to get the real speed.

most SSDs have higher transfer rates, so reading dicts will be faster. But there is no reason for hashcat to be run off a SSD.

You could probably even come up with an algorithm that does it with SIMD, but if the overall gain is a 5ms faster hashcat startup that's not really something worth benchmarking and/or optimizing.

Rules are always single-lined. However, sort -u might not filter all duplicates because there are many rules that do the same as other rules and there might be spaces in the rules which are ignored by...

There should be a parser as part of hashcat-utils, the rest is probably up to you. I'm not aware of any such tool you're looking for.
