A quantum computer is not what you want. It would be efficient at breaking the underlying cryptography of litecoin (and bitcoin and most others) but not at calculating hashes.

It always depends on what you are trying to crack. You obviously need a different wordlist for a fast hashing scheme like md5 than you would need for eg WPA. Also it is well worth building specialized... |

you should really use rules in your first or second round. Depending on how long the run takes use best64.rule or the cut-down version of the d3ad0ne rules (1.5k I think). |

why are you using --force?
You can use hashmode 99999, save your plaintext password to the "hash" file and run the attack against your actual plaintext. |
