Really, there is no good answer to that question. Brute-force would eventually (read: sometimes long beyond the end of our solar system or the universe) find your password. A good best-effort solution... |

If the self test is failing hashcat will be unable to crack hashes. This has nothing to do with speed. |

If you bought the card specifically for hashcat the question is why you chose AMD at all. Their OpenCL runtime is known to be garbage and their hardware is poorly suited for hashcat's purposes, compar... |

Windows should be as simple as installing the official AMD driver. On linux you need rocm which should not be much trouble to install on ubuntu. |

use PACK (https://www.thesprawl.org/projects/pack/) to generate hcmask files. btw, you're mixing up rules and masks. Those are completely different (and incompatible) things. |

Why are you using --self-test-disable? If hashcat fails to start otherwise your driver is probably broken which is an issue you need to fix… |

you are using -a3 (mask attack) with a dictionary
btw, pocl is not recommended, you should use the Intel OpenCL runtime |

maybe you run hashcat from a dir where you have no write permissions? Hashcat will try to write hashcat.pot to the CWD. |
