Don't create multiple threads for basically the same issue https://hashcat.net/forum/thread-8057-post-43265.html

Post: RE: Hashcat Brain

you should always use the potfile, unless you are tracking cracked hashes through other means (eg outfile). hashcat brain will not do that.

so much wrong here. oclhashcat has long been deprecated, use the latest hashcat version. either you use a0 with pipe or a3 without a pipe if you use mp you have to define the custom character...

You're not going to be happy trying to BF >= 8 characters full ascii charset. Try dict+rules if you haven't.

PMK is only useful if you need to attack the same SSID many times. Most people will never need this.

Static prefixes in a mask attack slow down the attack, that's a known limitation in hashcat. Avoid static prefixes if possible and try to change your attack.

Especially with WPA there is a chance of transmission errors. For other hash types less so.

Maybe Xeon CPUs have a special OpenCL runtime? I don't know. But hashcat should work just fine if you have a correctly installed OpenCL runtime.

Hashstack is included with the hardware. You cannot get hashstack without hardware.

Thread: Why 4.0.0 find the password and 5.1.0 not?
Post: RE: Why 4.0.0 find the password and 5.1.0 not?

Probably a bug in the AMD driver that is not triggered by the old opencl code but by the code in the latest hashcat version.

Pretty much. Well, hope they fix it with an update. And use the older hashcat version in the meantime.

hashcat will try to crack all handshakes if you concatenate them into a single file. It's a binary format and documented here: https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=hccapx

generate a rule file to insert the numbers/specials into the aaaAAA candidates, generated externally and piped into hashcat in stdin mode.
