you can run modes 13713, 13723, 13733 and 13753 which will cover all non-boot possibilities.

jtr's single mode just takes the user name/email and applies some rules to it (afaik). You can easily do that with hashcat. Just that you have to manually supply your rules.

Looking to determine what? FLOP perf is completely irrelevant for hashcat. Core count, frequency and architecture determines how fast a card is.

you will have to convert the hex to base64. The base64-string will be shorter than the hex-string when converted correctly.
