you can do --stdout to see all generated candidates. "Live" candidates are only shown by oclhashcat I think.

unlikely. the example file has been around since a long time and people have been successfully cracking WPA hashes as well.

The 2080ti you linked looks like a Nvidia reference design card. There is no PNY logo on it and the PCB has the Nvidia logo.

you have to run a x-server, at least for amd cards. btw, kde/gnome are no "x-servers" but window managers... you don't need a window manager at all.
