you should test by yourself how many iterations your server can bear. There will always be a trade off between security and performance.

hashcat takes only the first 512(?) bytes as input, not the whole container. btw, people still use XP?

Your gpu is very slow and bcrypt is very slow and you are trying to crack many hashes. It will probably be faster running this on cpu.

md5(md5(pwd)+string) != md5(md5(pwd+string)) also you did not specify that "string" in your hash file (aka salt).
