| this is not a problem with hashcat but a problem with your opencl driver. Clean your system and remove any traces of existing opencl drivers and then install the latest driver for your device. |

| this is a special shell character and therefore your shell causes this problem, not hashcat. You have to properly escape/quote. |

You could for example append/prepend the first two or three characters with a generated rule file instead of having mp generate ... |

| @Chick3nman: -O has no influence on benchmark mode. My own 1060's results are similar to the one in the referenced benchmark (on 4.0.0-rc1). |

| Your best bet is using a wordlist attack + rules if you don't know anything and hope the password is found. Hashcat ships with a couple of rules files. |
