this is not a problem with hashcat but a problem with your opencl driver. Clean your system and remove any traces of existing opencl drivers and then install the latest driver for your device.

this is a special shell character and therefore your shell causes this problem, not hashcat. You have to properly escape/quote.

Nvidia chips are slow, you have a mobile gpu and you are trying to crack a wpa hash. Not much speed to expect.

If you have one rule your amplification factor is 1 - same as no rule. You could for example append/prepend the first two or three characters with a generated rule file instead of having mp generate ...

@Chick3nman: -O has no influence on benchmark mode. My own 1060's results are similar to the one in the referenced benchmark (on 4.0.0-rc1).

Your best bet is using a wordlist attack + rules if you don't know anything and hope the password is found. Hashcat ships with a couple of rules files.

Just some numbers: Cracking AES-128 at a speed of 10^18 tries per second (which is probably much faster than even the NSA can afford) takes an awful lot of time: 2**128/1000000000000000000/60/60/24/...

if you look closely it's not 1% but -1%. This is because Nvidia restricts the GPU usage information to the developer cards only.
