You can generate a password you know on your system and then try to crack it.

Do not use AMD APP SDK if you want to run oclHashcat. Make sure it's not installed. It's the primary source for strange errors on linux.

That's simple, the -m 300 uses the binary digest from the first sha1() as input for the 2nd sha1() while -m 4500 uses the ascii hex representation of the first sha1().

Propably because of host process can't load words from dictionary. You might want to retry with -a 3 and see if it still happens. If no, then that's the reason.
