Can't you just pull out the required glibc files from the ubuntu package and then use LD_PRELOAD?

Right, there's no way to do this with hashcat unless a special new hash-mode is added. This depends on where that hash / salt combination that you talk about is used and if it makes sense to add it to...

It's simple unicode, what else to expect from .net :) To generate the zero bytes you can use --hex-charset or a tricky rule

Not in the generic hash types. But if it's an interessting hash and we add it as a new hash-mode it's possible, all lengths
