If you switch to oclHashcat v1.32 this will not happen anymore. It will use the wordlist as base whetever -a you choose in hybrid mode.

We are using markov-chains as BF replacement in oclHashcat. https://hashcat.net/misc/p009_img/bfpp.png However, you can use -s parameter to skip to a specific percentage.

1.32 uses AMP kernel (candidates calculated on GPU), therefore you need bigger wordlists as with 1.31.
