Post: RE: hashcat v3.00 error

OK it seems the problem is related to a broken OpenCL.dll. Friend of mine had the same problem. To solve it, do the following: - Uninstall the AMD driver - Reboot - Manually remove opencl.dll and...

There's a request for that: https://github.com/hashcat/hashcat/issues/129 you can +1 it if you want A known-plaintext attack is possible for limited ciphers like DES and RC4-40

The catalyst driver handles the CPU OpenCL as well, but is too old in your case. You need at least AMD driver 14.9.

I though I've explained it in all level of detail in the release notes. Hashcat worksaround the problem as good as it's possible, but it's not solveable by hashcat in total. For -a 0 based attacks you...

    Thread: MD5 and v3.00
Post: RE: MD5 and v3.00

The reason is that it's not really slower, I just had to fix a number of bugs in the rule engine, which is executed on the GPU, but those fixes lead to a slower kernel. So yes, 2.01 has a faster rule-...

No, keep a close look at the clocks. Latest driver all have a directly influence between temperature and core clocks. The higher the temperature, the lower the clock. When you do a benchmark, the GPU ...

Post: RE: hashcat-3.00 - potfile behavior / ignored ?

If you run the same command twice and unless you use --potfile-disable or something that disables the use of the potfile, the second command will not crack the same hashes again. That didn't change. ...

Thanks! About that one error, you should post it to the pocl project. They are pretty good and fast in fixing their own bugs, if it is. Also possible it's a LLVM problem.

In DES, for decrypt, you just access the sboxes in reverse. See https://www.scs.stanford.edu/histar/src/pkg/uclibc/libcrypt/des.c how it handles de_keysl[] and en_keysl[]
