Thread: pipe hashes through stdout?
Post: RE: pipe hashes through stdout?
You can use tools/test.pl in passthrough mode to generate hashes. However the tool is designed for unit-tests, not to run fast.
If you want to print out hashes calculated that makes sense only for ... |

Yes, that will not give you nearly the performance you can get out of hashcat. Read this: https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=frequently_asked_questions#does_the_pci-express_speed_have_any_influence_... |

I can reproduce this on my local setup, but this is the wrong place to report. Please post an issue on github. |

You also want to use Intels OpenCL runtime for your CPU, it's usually more than twice as fast as the AMD one. |

Thread: Nvidia memory utilization.
Post: RE: Nvidia memory utilization.
The 1/4 memory limit is because of OpenCL, which has some weird memory allocation rule. According to their specs: "Max size of memory object allocation in bytes. The minimum value is max (1/4th of CL_... |

It depends largely on xorg.conf. Hashcat doesn't do any reordering, it takes it 1:1 as it comes from the runtime. |

Thread: Cracking Scrypt Hashes: Line-length exception errors
Post: RE: Cracking Scrypt Hashes: Line-length exception ...
Don't make it too theoretic. From a practical perspective, with scrypt, you wouldn't find any two hashes that share the same first 8 byte with different inputs, simply because it's so slow. |

Thread: Can you please tell what is this error ?
Post: RE: Can you please tell what is this error ?
Your GPU is out of date, AMD dropped support for OpenCL from their driver. You need to buy new GPU.
Your CPU could work, with some luck, but you need to install Intels OpenCL runtime. |

You can do what --keep-guessing is doing by adding OPTS_TYPE_PT_NEVERCRACK to the hashconfig->opts_type for mode 11500 in src/interface.c |
