There's no special hardware for WPA cracking. You need to stick to CPU/GPU.

If this is a workaround for you, just clone it from github, remove the quotes, recompile.

No, this is a known bug in AMD OpenCL runtime/compiler, which is part of the AMD driver. Somewhere between AMD driver version 15.12 and the current driver they made some change and this change was bad...

Right, that's why you add rules to mitigate that effect. There should be no difference between and x1 and x16, even on MD5, if you have enough rules added.

Here are some 16.30 and 16.7.2 impressions: Driver versions 16.30 (linux) and 16.7.2 (windows) behave almost the same. The performance changes are almost identical and all the other impressions follow...

Note that 290x is no longer supported with latest AMD linux drivers. You need to manually install old drivers to use hashcat.
