| Yes, but that is EXACTLY the optimization in it and what makes the toggle case that efficient. if you have upper case chars in your password you do it to make it harder to crack the pass. that also me... |

| if you want to do real toggle-case attack you can use hashcat in --stdout mode. you would not need rules then. |

| if you remove the file it should fall back to the previous mode. however, this is defenitly your problem. but its linux/x11 related not hashcat. maybe you have to ask some guys from your linux distrib... |

| I just saw you use unsupported Catalyst 11.10 + SDK 2.5. You must use 11.4 and SDK 2.4, see here: https://hashcat.net/wiki/oclhashcat_catalyst_forceware |
