you are using to old CAT drivers. please use CAT 10.6. and as long it is not possible to disable crossfirex on 5970 you also need to use -d 1,3

yes, you need to disable crossfire to use both gpu. otherwise you can only use the first gpu (per card).

you do not need to use the gui. the gui is just an overlay to the real hashcat program, which is a console application: hashcat-cli.exe

i see. this must be some runtime or driver related problem on windows. i use tightvnc for remote access oclhashcat my on windows7 pc, works fine. make sure you have latest drivers.

most of the stuff is written in assembly. these instructions are x86 architecture dependant.

unfortionaly the new catalyst v10.7 did not fix the hd5970 problem. it seems it also requires a new opencl runtime. so we have to wait and hope ati fixes this in the next sdk v2.2 release. you still n...

the 8800GTX is not supported. its because of its gpu architecture.

cat v10.8 and sdk v2.2 is perfect. what card is this hd5970? add -d 1 to cmdline and try again.

i have no idea, sorry. i can not reproduce it since i do not have hd5870. any other hd5870 users have the same problem?

nice idea but as long as you can do it with external commands there is no real need for it. also, from an architectonic view its somehow strange to add a http client to a password cracker.

no, because it would make dictionary parser slower. it is easier and faster to parse normal 7bit/8bit dictionary and then expand the word in memory to utf. but this requires special -m mode (like NTLM...
