More crap with catalyst 14.12 found! GPU ordering is broken! See first post for details

Post: RE: Catalyst v14.9 vs 14.12

New major problem with catalyst 14.12 found. Hashes don't get cracked, even with correct password on R9 290x. At least I can reproduce it for R9 290x, maybe others are affected as well. See first post...

The wordlist works only for default password. If the password was changed, it will not work.

Those are propably wrong. You need to adjust power limit to 120% (afterburner or so) and rerun

Really, wrong. It's always when Nvidia releases a new series, the first driver has a reduced power limit set. After 2-3 driver release cycles they will set it internall to 100% (which is ~120%) from c...

It's fast, but not as fast as expected. Theoretical calculations show different numbers. You don't need to overclock, just set the correct power limit. Please rerun with 120%.

also note that with 8 gpus you will have 8x 100% cpu load because of shitty nvidia opencl runtime. make sure you have enough cpu power

You propably just haven't disabled the acl for X11, which is required to have fan control if you run hashcat via ssh. See the part with Xsetup here: https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=linux_server_h...

Right, that's why you add rules to mitigate that effect. There should be no difference between and x1 and x16, even on MD5, if you have enough rules added.

Keyspace is not the number of words in a wordlist: Quote: -- $ wc -l rockyou.txt  14344391 rockyou.txt $ ./hashcat --keyspace rockyou.txt  14344384 -- So 14344391 != 14344384. It's a...
