Post: RE: Office collision: 7 or more characters?

Well, MD5 is 128 bit while RC4 (in this case) is only 40 bit. The mode #2 is not made to find collisions, it's more to find the correct password used. Having the correct password gives you the chance ...

No, you can't reuse this unless the salt length is exactly the same. Otherwise it requires a special kernel module.

Post: RE: Speed difference between brute and dictionary ...

That's only for the 7-Zip algorithm because the password length has a large influence on the cracking speed. Or said a different way, there's no difference between BF and Dictionary if your BF mask is...

Maybe the large keyspace. Try something more normal like ?l?l?l?l?l?l?l?l and report if it still occurs

In that case it's an OpenCL runtime error, you can't do anything here. Maybe update to a more modern CPU, yours is almost 5 year old.

Give it some time, there's a little AI inside hashcat which controls the fanspeed. As all AI, it takes some time to get working (few minutes). It should be able to find a fan speed percentage which fi...

Please do update your hashcat version to a newer one, v3.10 is really outdated. Also 517kH/s on WPA is crazy fast. Better than 3kH/s on my AMD FX(tm)-6100.

Maybe the hashes which you're trying to crack were not created on a server using utf8 but some codepage/iso encoding.
