You just need to get OpenCL working, then hashcat will work, too. The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) may be broken with OpenCL |

hashcat doesn't know any language specific charsets. Or said differently, it works byte-wise and therefore knows all of them. Anyway when the password contains a byte outside 0x20-0x80 it displayed as... |

Yes, hashcat can work with CPU only. There's no GPU required. However you might have difficulties to get the AMD driver running without an AMD GPU.
pocl is another alternative. |

Right, that's why you add rules to mitigate that effect. There should be no difference between and x1 and x16, even on MD5, if you have enough rules added. |

Here are some 16.30 and 16.7.2 impressions:
Driver versions 16.30 (linux) and 16.7.2 (windows) behave almost the same. The performance changes are almost identical and all the other impressions follow... |

Note that you don't need to convert it if you want to use it from hashcat as wordlist. Hashcat detects them automatically and converts them internally. |

Nah, Intel GPU are bad, while Intel CPU are good. A good GPU like my 1080 makes ~400000 keys/sec. |
