Don't forget the "E" rule, it's exactly doing that: Lower case the whole line, then upper case the first letter and every letter after a space

This depends on string length. If salt length < 30, use 2611. if its 30 use 2711. Otherwise its not supported.

In philsmd example the string 'hashcatrocks' is the password. But please, stop using the word encrypt, it hurts.

VNC hashes are DEScrypt? I doubt that. DEScrypt does not have a "challenge-response" mechanism.
