Thread: Rx 480 Fails
Post: RE: Rx 480 Fails
I'll buy a rx480 as soon as there will be the first OEM versions out hopefully fix the 6pin power problem. Then I can try to workaround the bugs made by AMD. |

Ignore it, the current compiler in amdgpu-pro creates invalid code for those. |

Thread: RX 5700 XT OpenCL amdgpu-pro problem
Post: RE: RX 5700 XT OpenCL amdgpu-pro problem
1. uninstall pocl, retry. there's a good chance it will work
2. uninstall amdgpu-pro, install rocm. rocm is much better |

I got some ROCm benchmarks from a User but only for MD4, it's a bit slower than a 1080Ti:

AFAIK there'S no dedicated ryzen driver. But the Intel OpenCL runtime supports its (pretty good). |

Install Intel OpenCL runtime for CPU, this gives you a much better performance for AMD CPU. Not a joke. |

Use -D 1,2 to enable both device types, then use in addition -d to pick the devices you want to use. |

Sure not, as I said. You need to install Intel OpenCL runtime for CPU, this gives you a much better performance for AMD CPU (and also faster than pocl). |

Post: RE: Ryzen 1800X CPU with 1080 Ti GPU
Sorry I didn't want to interrupt this thread, but as you commented about the hashcat code there's no way to ignore.
You're absolutely right when you say that the hashcat code is optimized for Intel... |

Because older version performed slower. That means you'd need to update the old benchmarks, too. |

Don't mix in latest github version benchmarks. I've optimized the code to better perform on CPUs, so comparison would be invalid. |

Thread: Ryzen OpenCL benchmarks?
Post: RE: Ryzen OpenCL benchmarks?
Note that this is OpenCL. We do not have access to SSE2, AVX2 or whatever kind of special registers and instruction set exist on the device. The OpenCL runtime itself is managing the access to this an... |

Thread: safe temperature?
Post: RE: safe temperature?
Some AMD guy wrote me once that when they reach 95c the GPU bios will downclock the card automatically. Thats why oclHashcat-* automatically stops if they hit 90c. |

absolutly. depending on the algorithm, maximum salt length can range from 15 to 31.
