Thread: Understanding speed-only
Post: RE: Understanding speed-only
Note that --keyspace does not return the entire keyspace in case you're cracking fast hashes. It's only the base count, the amplifiers are left out and run inside the kernel. The "ms" count is the tim... |

No, hashcat is checking the overflow for every length, not just the minimum one. But it's checking the overflow whenever a new attack starts internally. If you use increment, each password length unfo... |

Thread: ULM Replacement ?
Post: RE: ULM Replacement ?
I created this sub-forum especially for discussing everything that is related to hashcracking. Of course I do not want to see any hashes posted here, so it should be legal talk. AFAIK, ULM is a wordli... |

Thread: Ubuntu 16.04 - fglrx is deprecated - is "radeon" driver OK these days?
Post: RE: Ubuntu 16.04 - fglrx is deprecated - is "radeo...
The most important question is, does the new OSS driver support OpenCL.
At this point, radeon-crimson-15.12-15.302-151217a-297685e.zip is the best driver you can get for oclHashcat on linux.
But... |

I've updated one of my development systems to Ubuntu 16.04 to clarify the situation.
As you can read about almost everywhere, fglrx is no longer supported. That's mostly because X11 is not compatib... |

But no one yet seems to have found out how to do it, even there's alot of discussion going on about this topic. It's like some hidden mysterium. A pretty demoralizing argument is this:

If you want performance there's no way around rewriting the crypto functions on gpgpu. Or you do it half-way. Do only the slow stuff on GPU and the rest on CPU with a crypto library. |
