They turned of the aggressive anti-DDoS protection a few days after 1.33 release. Since then everything worked fine. I think it's fixed

There's no general rule, you can place it anywere you want unless getopt expects an option parameter. For example "-m 0 -a 0 -o C:/cracked.txt C:hash.txt C/wordlist --username" would be fine.

not a bug, simply just not supported. max salt length is 32

Not in the generic hash types. But if it's an interessting hash and we add it as a new hash-mode it's possible, all lengths

hashcat is not optimized for brute force, but oclHashcat-lite is. that is because even with 64 high speed cpus you can not beat home computer with single hd6990 gpu.

We changed the encoding for the salt in the PBKDF2-HMAC-* generic hashes from raw to base64 with latest oclHashcat v1.38 (which is not yet released). For details see https://hashcat.net/trac/ticket/66...

Not just digits, it should work for all data as long as it does not include 0x00, \n or :

Hashcat handles CRLF automatically, at least \r\n and \n, not \r
