Thread: Plaintext within DES ECB mode 14000
Post: RE: Plaintext within DES ECB mode 14000
This has nothing to do with hashcat. DES is a block cipher using a block size of 8 bytes. Therefore both the PT and the CT need to be exactly 8 bytes, too. |

Thread: Piping speed from statsprocessor to oclhashcat
Post: RE: Piping speed from statsprocessor to oclhashcat
Depending on the algorithm you use, this speed sounds to low. For example if this is MD5, you should be in den 500M or more range. If thats so, you might have forgotten to add rules as a multiplier. T... |

Thread: Piping speed from statsprocessor to oclhashcat
Post: RE: Piping speed from statsprocessor to oclhashcat
Try passwordspro.rule. It should be big enough. If you do not get more speed with it than with best64, then you're already running at maximum speed. Also note that rule-based attacks are slower than b... |

Thread: Piping speed
Post: RE: Piping speed
The piping is not the slow part, the absence of amplifier is. If you add rules for examples, it speed will increase again, but it will take more time. Doesn't really make sense if you use MP just to b... |

Thread: Piping speed
Post: RE: Piping speed
Yes, if you want to get full speed. However, hashcat can not do -r as how MP is doing it.
Here's an article on amplifier: https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=frequently_asked_questions#how_to_creat... |

Thread: Piping Hashcat to Crunch?
Post: RE: Piping Hashcat to Crunch?
yes you can, but you should consider using maskprocessor, its like 8 times faster than crunch and more flexible.

Thread: piping hashcat into pyrit
Post: RE: piping hashcat into pyrit
Its still questionable why you use pyrit at all. Its old, not maintained and slower than oclHashcat-plus. Its even slower when running with GPU + CPU at once while oclHashcat-plus only uses GPU. |

Thread: Pipe is slow
Post: RE: Pipe is slow
Sometimes, with a lot of GPU power, it takes a bit of manual support. Please optimize your attack. Here's an example:

Thread: pipe hashes through stdout?

You can use tools/test.pl in passthrough mode to generate hashes. However the tool is designed for unit-tests, not to run fast.

Yes, that will not give you nearly the performance you can get out of hashcat. Read this: https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=frequently_asked_questions#does_the_pci-express_speed_have_any_influence_... |
