Thread: Why doesn't the restore point update with BCrypt hashes?
Post: RE: Why doesn't the restore point update with BCry...
Not a bug, your wordlist is too small (198172 candidates), there's simply no restore checkpoint possible with it. |

Post: RE: Why doesn't the restore point update with BCry...
That's because you did check only 348 words yet (28780880 / 82563). You threads alone do 256, not even counted the shader or the -n multiplicator. For sure you didn't reach a checkpoint for restore. P... |

Thread: Why doesn't the restore point update with BCrypt hashes?
Post: RE: Why doesn't the restore point update with BCry...
As I said already not if you use a single hash. Since bcrypt is salted, there's not benefit (from a time perspective) then to run them all in a single mode in a sequence. |

This mode is nearly supported. Try with -m 121.
Make sure your attack mode will only product upper-case passwords. |

Thread: Errors on Win7 and Linux
Post: RE: Errors on Win7 and Linux
The GPU is too old and the drivers do not support them cleanly, hence the errors. Solution: Buy a new GPU. |

Thread: brute forcing sha256 - need help locating salt in open source code
Post: RE: brute forcing sha256 - need help locating salt...
Someone would need to read through the sources to find out how the hash is built. After that, one need to write a new hashcat kernel to do it. Nothing that can be done in a few hours. |

It's a known problem with all AMDGPU-Pro drivers > 16.40, therefore you should stick with 16.40 and not newer ones. |

Not a bug, it's a feature! Really, you can use hashcat in --stdout mode and pipe it to another hashcat session in stdin mode. Then it will work. Something like this:

You need root privileges to do that. If you don't want to run hashcat as root, simply ignore it, it doesn't harm. |
