Post: RE: extra chars and mask files
The problem is, if the hash was calculated while the encoding was set to UTF-8, you must attack it using UTF-8, too. Attacking masks with UTF-8 is a bit more complicated, see this blog post how to do ... |

Install Intel OpenCL runtime for CPU, this gives you a much better performance for AMD CPU. Not a joke. |

Sure not, as I said. You need to install Intel OpenCL runtime for CPU, this gives you a much better performance for AMD CPU (and also faster than pocl). |

As you can see from the dmesg output yourself, hashcat is not the problem. The AMDGPU-Pro driver is still kind of unstable. I'd recommend ROCm instead, but even ROCm is still not production ready. The... |

Hashcat.net is now powered by Nginx. The previous lighttpd crashed a bit to often for my taste (like last night). Response time should not change much. |

Thread: Combinator attack slow down
Post: RE: Combinator attack slow down
It's also because with mask-attack (or general with brute-force) we can do some optimization because we know what comes "next". Therefore we can make use of meet-in-the-middle etc. |

Thread: HC3 not working, vs HC2
Post: RE: HC3 not working, vs HC2
No, the opposite. OpenCL is faster, but requires a more modern GPU. That is Shader Model 5.0 or higher. See here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B1S_t1Z0KsqByH3pNkYUM-RCFMu860nlfSsYEqOoqco/ed... |
