Thread: Old format available?
Post: RE: Old format available?
There's no algorithm that you can use out of the box to do that. You need to patch a kernel. |

Thread: Hashcat 3.00 will not quit
Post: RE: Hashcat 3.00 will not quit
Using the desktop on a card which does the cracking has no influence on the cracking performance so I'd recommend to disable the integrated graphics and save alot of headache. |

Thread: Bruteforce partial HASH SHA1
Post: RE: Bruteforce partial HASH SHA1
This is not support by default with hashcat, but it's pretty easy to hack hashcat to do it.
I've attached a diff to do so. Make sure to clean old objects and cached kernels, too.

Hashcat v3 is not generally slower, only old GPU are slower. With modern GPU, it's faster, as you can see here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B1S_t1Z0KsqByH3pNkYUM-RCFMu860nlfSsYEqOoqco/edit... |

Thread: Hashcat 4.1.0 slow speed
Post: RE: Hashcat 4.1.0 slow speed
Note that you can still have full cracking speed even with a static prefix mask for slow hashes like WPA by using a pipe.
Full speed test:
Code:

Post: RE: Hashcat noob need help!
Native pwdump format is supported. You just need to set the -m mode so that oclHashcat knows which type of hashes you want to crack. |

If it cracks, it says "cracked" in the status line, else it propably says "exhausted" and you need to try a different mask |
