Don't forget electricity, if running one node with few cards it's ok, nothing noticeable, but if you have some small cluster or more? @atom, did you checked how much in real life it consumes, it sho...

Depends on budget. For hash cracking I would go for something like 5870, 6950 and up. Also if electricity on mind - just 5xxx series. Like 5970 does same job as 6990 using ~35% less energy.

Isn't it's easier to use some script.sh with your fan commands, when you launch script with hashcat job, on top write 70% at the end 30% and all will be done ... I would never trust other software to ...
