-d 1 means that you will use second gpu. Your first line should be -d 0 and second -d 1. Anyway, this type of split will go nowhere as you forcing one gpu to do 4 times more job than other.

On high iterated hashes 5 series slower than 6 by ~10% at same clocks, maybe because of VLIV? You can check benchmarks thread, there are 5970 and 6990 all hashes.

Lets say in other way: CPU is not needed for oclHashCat-lite when doing bruteforce of gpu friendly algos like MD5. CPU, BUS speed, BUS wide and else is needed when you doing Dictionary, Hybrid attacks...
