vcl wouldn't work though, because hashcat does not supply any nvidia opencl kernels

Yes, I completely forgot about that. |

Thread: Purge rule?

I totally agree. It would a huge hard disk space saver. Just need to know if it is feasible on GPU. |

Thread: Purge rule?
Post: RE: Purge rule?
Thanks atom. What do you guys think about this solution: for unsalted hashes, run hashcat with the wordlist and purge rules. This should not be costly and finish in a reasonable time. For salted ha... |

I'm not sure if I understood this fully. However, with CPU based algorithms (slow ones, iterated) you can already use the purge rule since oclHashcat uses hashca... |

Thread: Bars vs HC
Post: RE: Bars vs HC
You should at the very least compare them trying to crack the same keyspace. Anyway, hashcat is far superior since it uses markov chains. You are more likely to get your hit faster than barswf. |

Thread: two dictionaries and numbers
Post: RE: two dictionaries and numbers
Then your best bet is to "rulify" both your second wordlist and the modification like:
dict2.rule
Code:
--
$c
$d
--
mod.rule
Code:
--
$1$1$1
$1$1$2
$1$1$3
...

As far as I know, only the -q switch could help you. You would need your own word generator to apply all these rules. |

Then I am baffled too because from what I understood from your posts is that the centrifugal blower was the most reliable visual clue that it was a reference design. |

The most reliable way to tell if a card is reference design or not is to go to amd.com or nvidia.com and look at their official product photos.

It's MD5 so with a decent rig you could get at least 20-40 G/s and cover the keyspace in 3-5 days. Am I wrong? |
