I guess it's possible that depending on how you extracted the hash, you are trying to login onto the domain with the local admin password or vice versa.

This sounds to me like normal behavior. Like unix-ninja said, you press s (lowercase s) to update the screen info. You will see that the field "Progress" will increase with time until it finishes.
