1. BFL never responded to our request for dev hardware to test with. 2. ASICs would only be good for the algo that the gates are programmed for.

Hopefully a new driver will fix it. Guys on windows have had success setting the fan speeds, so I dont see why linux wouldn't be able to.

You really shouldn't use risers. Do it right the first time so you don't have headaches down the road. Also, stay away from the x2xx series.

sounds like ambient temp is too high or the airflow to the card is obstructed.

you need 2 machines to host 11 gpus. Also, don't use risers as the cause problems.

If you have the money then yes, 290x is the better choice. I think the figure was 50% more for 35% more speed.
