Have you tried manually setting the status update frequency (with --status and --status-timer)? [Edit: apparently this issue is regardless of that; could be a potential feature, likely a GitHub iss...

I'm not aware of a way to get hashcat to output *all* candidates - only the actual cracks. What is your use case for this?

Looks like this is the same as: https://github.com/magnumripper/JohnTheRipper/pull/3240 ... so John the Ripper (jumbo edition) may have it soon?

I wouldn't say by design - but I have no idea if this longer delay is "fixable" or a natural consequence of the approach. My understanding is that there's some development discussion going on about it...

Post: RE: pass:hash output for every candidate

Hmm. If hashcat creates different hashes for the same candidates (assuming the same salt), that would be a pretty serious bug. Generally speaking, you might be able to figure something out using ha...

It's possible that hashcat's format is a little different in its conversion, but I'm not sure what the difference might be. It's also possible that it's a slightly newer version or variant. Do you...

Huh - if the trial copy produces hashes of the same type, then this may indeed simply be a new variant. Please create an issue on hashcat's GitHub here: https://github.com/hashcat/hashcat/issue...

If there are 32 random characters missing, there is no way to bruteforce that space in our lifetimes.

Post: RE: What does this tip mean when you break it?

It means that every hash that you are trying to crack was already previously cracked, and the results of that crack are in the potfile.

Yes, there are ways to do this with PCI-E extenders and an open case. But the choice of extenders can be tricky - powered vs unpowered, and general manufacturing quality can be poor. You can research ...

Our own hardware forum is pretty reputable ;) - search there for PCI-E, extenders, etc. and you should get some good leads.

    Thread: Weird estimated time

The time estimate is accurate. WPA is a slow hash, and you've requested a brute-force attack. Most of the time, a full brute-force attack like the one you've crafted is a last-resort activity, aft...

If it's 10 random digits, and there's no other pattern, that's probably the best you can do. Adding -O / --optimized-kernel-enable might also help.
