Thread: Intel(R) G33/G31 Express, supported?
Post: RE: Intel(R) G33/G31 Express, supported?
Intel currently only supports their CPUs with OpenCL. Their GPUs are generally fixed function and not suited to OpenCL.
This may change with the release of the Ivy Bridge platform in a year or two -... |

Thread: How to guide for EC2 instance?
Post: RE: How to guide for EC2 instance?
There's a difference between "Working properly and slow because of the hardware" vs "not working" - please differentiate.
nVidia cards are quite slow for hash cracking, and the Teslas aren't any be... |

Why bother intercepting SSH if you control the system? Simply compromise the kernel, or use a hypervisor for introspection. :) |

That's what we call a "Good password hashing algorithm." Excessive, yes, but... that's awesome to see in the wild! |

I'm a bit confused. If you know the password is len30, and you know the first 26 characters, why would you need distributed computing? That's only 4 unknown positions.
I'm not sure where the "up to... |

I can verify that current versions of oclHashcat-plus will NOT work with a 6xxx and 7xxx series GPU at the same time. |

Thread: what gpu to buy
Post: RE: what gpu to buy
For the cost of a 6990, it looks like you can almost get 2 7970s - which will be faster than the 6990, probably use about the same power, and are just a better architecture.
I highly recommend the 79... |

Hashcat more or less assumes you're running on Ubuntu 12.04 right now.

Very interesting concept.
The x1 speeds shouldn't hurt performance much.
The main problem with stuff like this (in most cases) is that the drivers typically have an 8 device limit (so 4x6990s). ... |

Buy a used 7970.
Failing that, perhaps a 7950.

Yes, but edge cases do not a good card make, for most people. The bulk of the hashes out there are MUCH better served by AMD than nVidia, at least right now. |
