A hybrid of both, ordered by cracking speed (gradually coming up). As a result, each algo may have a number assigned to it (every range frees up for each unique algo name). -m md5-0 == md5 -m md5...

You should follow the canonical way of supplying commands: hashcat -m 0 -a 3 --pw-min=4 --pw-max=4 -1 ?l?d -o /root/done.txt /root/hash/hash.txt ?1?1?1?1 Not that it matters (it's pretty much idiot ...

Yes. As a matter of fact, any GPU of sm >=2.0 has modern CUDA support. For GeForce, it's any GPU older or belonging to 4xx series.

A small GPU cluster, which has the speed of 1M p/s for WPA2, could check entire 16^10 keyspace in around 13 days. No quantum computers needed.

Technically, you're dealing with a sha-512($salt1.$pass.$salt2), where $salt2 = $salt2.len($pass); it's just a number appended to salt2. You'll have to filter your dictionaries / keyspace to a certai...

Hashcat and Ocl/Cudahc are closed source software. In your case, there seems to be no hash to crack, just raw encryption, which isn't what the software does.
