Thread: AMD Radeon R9 290X
Post: RE: AMD Radeon R9 290X
Don't be fooled by the preliminary results and compare gaming/synthetic benchmarks to practical integer performance.
Also, as long as it's at least 20% faster than 7970, it's a win. |

So the core clock is at 1.05Ghz, at least that's what the latest speculations are saying.

i think we'll go ahead and order 8 of them and see how they pan out. hopefully the price will drop down some in the coming months, 600 USD is a bit spendy.

Still, it's the fastest single-gpu red card.
With something like this (https://ax3.arctic.ac/), it'll rock! |

Notice how the price turned out to be better than expected: recommended $549 per GPU.
It seriously beats GTX Titan in int perf / $ category. |

How about best 512, sorted by efficiency?
This way the list can be cut to suit any needs and still remain efficient.
2 cents. |

I think I read somewhere that hashcat started as a fork of JtR or so?

Congratulations, Jeremi!
If the core clock during cracking process is indeed 1.215 GHz-ish, then my predictions in this thread (https://hashcat.net/forum/thread-4178.html) were true.

You can calculate ETA by dividing total number of combinations by current speed.
If that's len8 alpha, then it's 26^8 combination.
As for the progress stuff, well, it's kinda possible, but tricky,... |
