A Brute force attack does not use a dictionary unless its a hybrid attack. Read the Wiki a bit to understand what each attack does.

My guess is it's way too big of a keyspace.. Just try it with less length on your hybrid attack such as only 2 or 3 characters and see if the error persist. Also how big is your dictionary file? |

It'll keep looking if you have more than one digest. Remove the other digest and you'll have no more issues.
Example of a multicap file with 6 hashes:
