Post: Picky Linux versions still?

Been using hashcat since ~1.3 days.  Back then installing it was a bit tricky and the 'official guide' was to use Ubuntu Server 12 LTS.  (when 14 I think was out) Is this still the case?  I'd li...

Post: Stuck at hashcat (3.20) Starting... linux

Popped in 3.20 on an old Ubuntu 12x LTS server. Got invalid driver messages. Installed a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 LTS server install  following the directions in the wiki (new HD too) And now I just get ...

Post: increment gives invlaid mask error

I can run this fine without the --increment.  But once I try to use it I get an invalid mask error. (tried adding in a min/max too.  And moving the switches' order around a bit) So where is my bra...

Thanks Atom! I thought it *should* work, and did do a cursory look-see for known issues, and what not before posting. I'm cool if it gets fixed or not.  (been diggin' big time doing bash scripting....

Post: FPGA cards?

Ok so now that hashcat supports FPGAs that have CL drivers, are there any PCIe cards that actually run with it? Are they on par H/s per $ as a standard GPU?s

Post: Dropping a GPU

I know this is a OpenCL/hardware issue and not a hashcat, but thought you good folks might have some insight. Quick specs: Ubuntu 14.x LTS NVIDIA driver v.375.39 Intel i7-6850, 32 GB RAM 3x EVGA ...

Did a quick search and came up blank. But does the Spectre/meltdown patches effect cracking speeds? I've heard performance hits all over the place (5%-30%) Ubuntu server 16.04.4 lts tia.
