Thread: How to stop GPU from working at 100%
Post: How to stop GPU from working at 100%
I'm cracking some MD5 hashes with an old GTX285, and while cracking even web browsing laggs. Is there a way I can limit my GPU usage to say, 90-95%? |

Thread: performance diffrence PCIe
Post: performance diffrence PCIe
I know there isn't really any performance difference in games between PCIe 2.0/3.0 and/or x8/x16, but is this also the case with oclHashcat, or can it actually make use of the extra bandwidth? |

I'm trying to do a mask attack on a WPA hash, as described here https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=mask_attack . How do I set it up to try all lowercase alphanumeric characters and a password of 1-8 ... |

Post: RE: How to configure mask attack
Thanks. Now one more stupid question, I presume that if I have multiple WPA hashes in a single file, hashcat will try each password on all hashes simultaneously? How do I get all the hashes in the sam... |

I see. Converting each handshake to hccap from one airodump file is no problem, I just hoped there was a more efficient way to crack the hashes than to run them one at a time. But thanks anyway :) |

I'm trying to get the root password for a DSL modem/router, to unlock more features. In the config file the password is stored like this (I've censored some of it):
Code:

I just replaced 2x4 characters with asterisk. Both hashes are the same length, and both seem to include a lot of A's towards the end. |

Thread: What kind of hash is this?
Post: RE: What kind of hash is this?
When I do a password change the hash turns out exactly the same. I don't see why I should even bother finding out what "QAAAABfQUxMAAAAIAAAACE=" means, since it's just the same in all hashes.
So if I... |

This is interesting, I compared the hashes of admin/root, and found that the first 21 characters (not counting "_encrypted_" are unique, but the last 22 characters (not counting "=") are absolutely id... |

Great tutorial. It would be better IMHO if you included two things:
