cpu doesn't matter for hash cracking with hashcat. i have used two hd 5970 on cheap motherboard and i3 530 cpu and no speed difference when upgraded to z68 motherboard and i5 2500k |

your wordlist should already contain "mikev" in it, or on the bruteforce side you'll have to include a-z as well as numbers |

you can use the aticonfig command. it's something like
aticonfig --adapter=all --odsc=800,1000
where 800 is the gpu clock and 1000 is RAM clock |

Should be able to use the example0.hash and example.dict with different attack modes.
Attack modes:
0 = Straight
1 = Combination
3 = Brute-force
6 = Hybrid dict + mask
