Post: RE: AMD Radeon Pro Duo

Please spend a tiny amount of time looking through this forum before posting rudimentary questions. Your question has been answered ad nauseam.

https://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-1970-KR "EVGA GeForce GTX 970 GAMING" Looks kinda "reference", has "GAMING" in the product title so, no, it isn't a pure reference dessign. Ho...

I'm a hobbyist myself and many here use this for security auditing AFAIK - both within their own organisations and when auditing others. I'm sure folk are out there wrapping this as the kind of servic...

Thread: Anyway to benchmark with specific parameters?
Post: RE: Anyway to benchmark with specific parameters?

Eh? Benchmark scores are measured in hashes per second, not time to exhaust keyspace... Just start cracking your hash and the "Speed.Dev.#1...: 10275.6 kH/s (0.00ms)" figure is your benchmark value. A...

Post: RE: Anyway to benchmark with specific parameters?

I don't think you can alter the benchmark parameters or attack mode (default is bruteforce -a 3 I believe) but why extrapolate when you've already identified a solution? Start cracking a hash configur...

Post: RE: Anyway to benchmark with specific parameters?

Ah yes, -m 8900. Not all hashes identify themselves so conveniently you must appreciate. Specifying the hash mode is required (unless MD5, the default, -m 0).

Post: RE: Best Affordable GPU for oclhashcat Q4'15 ???

Define "affordable" and the answer will present itself. Also think about what affordable means in terms of your electricity bill too as AMD Radeon cards are thirstier than nVidia's.

I think this is what you're looking for. (https://hashcat.net/forum/thread-3949-post-22449.html#pid22449) You'll have to check current prices yourself and decide from there.

Depending on how much heat is being generated, you may have to override the GPU's fan control to run faster. Search the forums.

A whole bunch of people are going to jump on here and tell you how terrible the 295X2 is for cracking but for a start, please advise what PSU you're using. Those GPUs are hungry beasts.

Dude, that's barely enough power to run one 295X2! The TDP is around 450-500W and your PSU isn't 100% efficient either.
